Though such technology comes with a very expensive price tag, LED LCD TV still stirs interest among television enthusiasts. Pioneer brands have emerged with their own models but two brands appeared to be more competitive - the Samsung A950 LED LCD and the Sony XBR8 Series.

Now a hot issue let us review how both LED LCD televisions lead the home viewing entertainment market into a whole new level.

LED LCD TVs are your usual Liquid Crystal Display television with the addition of the cutting-edge LED backlighting technology. and of course, new technologies mean quite a big introductory price. But Samsung wanted to attend to the needs of a greater market so the 81F Series of LED LCD TV was their first attempt to provide a mass-market model.

The manufacturer competition grew even hotter that Samsung released their A950 series while Sony created the XBR9 series of LCD LED TVs and LG introduced their LG 47LG90. LG and Samsung models sell at around 00 for a 46 inch screen like the Samsung LN46A950 while 44 inch versions are priced at roughly 00.

Sony chose not to join the price bracket of the two brands; their 46 inch KDL-46XBR8 sells at 00 while the 55 inch version is at 00 more. This makes the Sony models appear to be exceptionally expensive than LED LCD HDTVs from other brands.

However, they differ not only in price but also the LED backlighting technology used. Although all three uses hundred of LEDs positioned behind the screen, Sony uses a three-color LED set-up while LG and Samsung use white LEDs on their screens.

Sony's three-color LED system is coined as Sony Triluminous Technology which is powered by one blue LED and two green ones. Sony explains that such technology will improve color purity of images. This perhaps could be a reason for their more expensive price tag.

So which LED technology is better? Is it Samsung's white light LED backlight or the three-colored technology of Sony?

Since LCD LED TV technology is technically quite new, improvements wills still be made in the years to come. Not that this isn't the right time to buy a LED LCD TV; but if you will consider things carefully and manage to realize that your needs could be met in a less expensive model, you will see that it would be more rational to get a more affordable model.

But then again, it will all depend on your requirements of a good LED LCD HDTV. If Sony's Triluminous technology appears to you more, and if you have the budget for it, then go buy it. But if you are considering saving your 00-3000 cash, opt to get the Samsung one and you will still get an exceptional LED LCD HDTV. After all, it is Samsung; you can be assured that you'll get what is best.

Vizio TVs - Good LCD TVs That Are Good For Gaming Too

How good are Vizio LCD TVs? Are Vizio televisions any good? Are Vizio TVs good for gaming? These are some of the questions asked lately.

Vizio makes many models in many sizes. Different models have different features, 60Hz, 120Hz, 240Hz, 720p, 1080p, 4ms response, 5 ms response, 6 ms response, 8 ms response, just to run through a few. Never mind that then you have combinations, 60Hz with 6ms response, 60 Hz with 8ms response.

In general, if you're not taking into account the price, Vizio TVs are good. If you DO take into account the price, in general they are great, some are even amazing. Vizio VFf551XVT, for instance, an LED LCD TV, will cost you ,000. That's ,400 less than a comparable Samsung, ,000 than a comparable LG.

And, yes, it's good for gaming too. It's got 240Hz refresh rate, 5ms response, pretty deep blacks.

If 55 inch TVs are too large for you, Vizio's got you covered. Vizio SV421XVT has, like the VF551XVT, 240Hz refresh rate, 1080p resolution, great contrast. But it's got an even faster response: 4 ms. Most places sell this one between 9 and 21. So, again, not expensive.

With Vizio TVs, you get a lot of television for not a lot of money. If you're into gaming, just make sure the response is 5ms or less. If you buy a 37" TV (or larger), you definitely want 1080p resolution (large TVs with 720p resolution are on their way out but you can still come across them), and, no matter what size you're buying, you want at least 120Hz refresh rate (with lower Hz, you get blurriness).

How to Clean Your LCD TV screen

* Easily Scratched!

First we have to understand a little bit of background about LCD screens to know why we should be careful when cleaning. LCD stands for Liquid Crystal Display; which has crystal molecules sandwiched under layers of polarized panels. These panels are usually made of "plastic-like" polymer materials, and like any plastics they can be easily scratched or gouged, even by just your fingernails! That's why cleaning LCDs requires special care while cleaning compared to the old glass CRT monitors!

* What You'll Need

- rubbing alcohol (aka isopropyl alcohol)

- distilled water (not tap water!)

- A soft cloth (lint-free)

* Steps

1. Dilute the rubbing alcohol into a mix with about 50% alcohol and the rest distilled water.

2. Pour this solution into a spray bottle. Old Windex bottles are good as they spray in a mist pattern with just the right amount to get good coverage on your screen. The spray bottles that squirt a single stream tend to drip solution all over the place.

3. Spray the mix onto a soft lint-free cloth. Old t-shirts and microfiber car wash cloths are both good choices. Large cloths are better since it helps to reduce the risk of leaving streaks on the screen from too much pressure.

4. Gently wipe the cloth on the screen in a circular consistent motion. Apply even pressure to the cloth and be careful not to push too hard, or scrape the screen with your fingernails!

* Suggestions

- Costly products that you buy at the "computer screen cleaning" aisle of your local computer store contain the same basic ingredients of alcohol and water! Some even contain other harmful chemicals such as ethylene glycol, which may be OK on older glass CRT monitors, but should NOT be used on LCD screens! Some of the extra chemicals can also be harmful to the environment and to your health.

- Be sure to use Mineral water! Not tap water; you don't want hard mineral spots on your screen.

- Don't use tissue paper; they will leave lint and spots of paper stuck to your monitor. Also they're too thin, risking damage from your fingernails poking through.

- Don't apply too much solution. If you do, just wipe it off with the cloth and use less.

- You can also use lint-free lens wipes from photography stores, but they're thinner so be careful about your fingernails poking through.

- For a cheap ready-made solution from the store, you can also use CD/DVD cleaner, It's already designed to be plastic-safe, and is a simple solution of about 50% isopropyl alcohol.

* Some Precautions

- Don't use Windex or other glass cleaners! These contain ammonia, which is OK for glass, but WILL hurt your LCD screen!

- Try not to use the really cheap paper towels, like the tough brown ones in public washrooms. They can scratch your screen.

- Be sure to shut down your computer and your monitor, then unplug from the wall. This reduces the risk of electric damage in case you spill some of the solution on components.

- Don't drink isopropyl alcohol! It's toxic!

- If you aren't sure, you can test a small corner of the screen first.

Follow the steps and suggestions above, and your trusty LCD monitor should give you years of clean, clear, trouble-free service.

How To Reset Your LG Washing Machine

Are you encountering code errors in your LG washer? Is your LG washing machine producing beeping sounds right after hitting the start button? Sounds like you need to reset your washer.

Resetting your washer can bring back the circuit functions to the factory settings. Sometimes, frequent use of washer can lead to the build up of information in the circuit. By simply resetting the machine, you are getting rid of accumulated data.

But before resetting your washer, make sure the error codes are really caused by malfunctions in the circuit and not by an external problem.

Do not overload the washer drum. LG washers are very sophisticated. The modern ones can sense when there is too much load inside the drum. Also check the power source. Make sure you directly connect the machine to the outlet. This machine needs a good supply of voltage. Using extension cords can cut the flow of energy.

Checking the flow of water also does not hurt. When dirt has accumulated in the water filter, water cannot pass through easily. Since these have timer settings that allow the machine to be filled up with water at a specific time, high water pressure is needed.

Follow these steps to reset your LG washer:

Step 1: Unplug the washer. Let it rest for a couple of minutes to allow the undercurrents to die down.

Step 2: Slowly pull the washer away from the wall. If you have rough flooring, you might want to "walk" the washer forward by lifting one end after the other. Make sure you do not disconnect the connection of water hose at the back.

Step 3: Open the door of the washer and use your hands to manually spin the basket. If you are using a top loader, you should hold the agitator firmly and spin it. You cannot really turn it perfectly but you should spin it manually as far as you can. Do this step three times to allow the machine to restart its functions. Make sure you rotate the front load basket for about 360 degrees to allow the restart functions to happen.

Step 4: Push the washer back in its place and plug it. Check the water hose if it has been disconnected.

Step 5: Now try to run a test cycle. The machine should work perfectly fine now.

Now that you know how to reset your LG washing machine, you should be able to correct code error problems on your own.
